The Society, with organizing support from ONGC and IOC held six successful International Petroleum Conferences & Exhibitions in 1995, 1997,1999, 2001, 2003 and 2005. These conferences have come to be known as the Petrotech Conferences. More information on these can be found here.

Other than these regular biennial events, the society also continuously organizes workshops and seminars around the country.

Lifetime Achievement Awards

Petrotech Society took initiative to institute Lifetime Achievement Awards for extra ordinary contribution to the Hydrocarbon Industry in India. Ten eminent technocrats have received this award so far viz. Dr. Hari Narain, former Director, NGRI Hyderabad; Late Shri B.S. Negi, former Director, ONGC; Dr. S. Varadarajan, former Director General, CSIR; Late Shri A.B. Das Gupta, former C&MD, Oil India Ltd; Dr. N. B. Prasad, former Chairman, ONGC; Late Shri Dhirubhai Ambani, Founder, Reliance Group of Industries; Shri S.N. Talukdar, former Director (Exploration), ONGC; Dr. P.K. Professorial Chair

The PETROTECH Society has instituted a “PETROTECH Chair Professor of Petroleum Technology” at the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, to (i) facilitate teaching and research environment friendly technologies in hydrocarbon sector, (ii) promote pursuit of excellence in education and research (including advising and continuing education) in Hydrocarbon technologies, (iii) facilitate conduct of programmes to prepare students at Graduate and Post-Graduate levels in Petroleum Technology Area and (iv) act as liaison between academia and hydrocarbon industry.

Petrotech Fellowships

In order to promote research and development in hydrocarbon technology, PETROTECH Society has awarded fellowships to Ph.D and M.Tech students. It has also instituted one Media Fellowship. It proposes to institute 5 Research based Post Doctorate Emeritus Scientist/Manager Fellowships in the specific areas relevant to the hydrocarbon sector.

Petrotech Journal

The Petrotech brings out the Journal of Petrotech Society on a half yearly basis. It has brought out 9 issues since its inception i.e. September 2004. More information is available here.
