2nd Industry Educational Tour to University of Alberta, Canada
2nd Industry Educational Tour of University of Alberta, Canada : Petrotech Society organized the 2nd Industry Educational Tour to University of Alberta Canada and other industries from 19th 25th July 2009. 17 executives from major upstream and downstream companies like Oil & Natural Gas Corporation, Oil India, Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. participated in the programme.
Dr Reene Elio, Acting Vice President, Research and Dr Edy Wong, Director, Centre for International Business Studies welcomed the delegates on behalf of University of Alberta and emphasized the need for stronger working relations with Petrotech and Indian Oil & Gas Industry by building a good collaborative, knowledge sharing and joint research approach programme.
Secretary, Petrotech, while highlighting the activities of the Society emphasized the need to strengthen and carry forward the MoU entered into with University of Alberta in the fields of education and applied Research. Exchange of such visits by faculty and industry members would go a long way in this direction. He also invited faculty from University of Alberta to attend Petrotech Society’s regular programmes on exploration, Refining and Petrochemicals as per our annual calendar.

Industry tour has been well received by all the participants who were of the opinion that the same has added to their knowledge and should be continued for other groups in future as well.

PETROTECH 2010:
1st Core Group Meeting of PETROTECH 2010
- 1st Core Group Meeting was held on 9th July 2009 at Hotel Le Meridien, Delhi, Secretary MoP&NG presided. Chairman Steering Committee, PETROTECH 2010 (CMD, ONGC) welcomed Secretary MoP&NG-Chairman, Core Group and other participants. All the new Chairmen Nodal Committees for PETROTECH 2010 were formally introduced by him.
- Following presentations were made:
- Chairman, Organizing Committee for PT 2009 shared his experiences with the members present
- Chairman, Steering Committee of PT 2010 asked DGM & CEA to CMD, ONGC to make presentation on the approach paper circulated earlier during founders’ day of Petrotech Society on 9/6/09 for further discussions
- Theme of PETROTECH 2010, the 9th International oil & gas conference and exhibition was decided as “Global Energy Equilibrium”
- Dates of the 9th International Oil & Gas Conference were decided from 31st Oct to 3rd Nov 2010.
- Records pertaining to PT 2009 have been handed over to Convenor PETROTECH 2010 on 22/7/2009.
