Meetings

Mr Anand Kumar, Director Petrotech visited the following during his visit to University of Alberta Canada and US Texas

South West Research Institute, US Texas: Mr Anand Kumar, Director Petrotech was invited by the South West Research Institute (SWRI), one of premier independent research organisation of US, based in San Antonio, Texas, on 9th August, 2011. This self financed R&D institution has turnover of US $ 500 million last year. They work very closely with industry and academia in providing solutions and also developing new technology and tools. Each department of this institute is autonomous and self sustained, under the holding apex management group, headed by a CEO. Mr Kumar, interacted with over 30 scientists of SWRI, individually and collectively, and emphasised on the need for SWRI people to visit and conduct awareness programmes in India, which they highly appreciated.

Mempore Research Lab Ottowa, Canada: On invitation from Dr Kutowey Olef, of Mempore Technologies, Mr Kumar visited their lab, which has been working on low energy recycling of used lubricants. It is not known , where about 70 % of used lubricants go, and this membrane based technology may prove a very economical low energy process for recovering the high value base oils from the used lubricants. Dr Olef, has worked on membrane technology, for over 35 years in the National Research Centre (NRC) of Canada, which is equivalent of CSIR of India.

Process Research Ortech Inc, Mississauga, Toronto : Mr Kumar was invited by Dr. Lakshmanan , Vice Chair and CEO of a Toronto based premier research institute Process Research Ortech Inc. This institute started in 1928, has been working on diverse areas from automotives to aerospace, from mining to metallurgy.

Dr Lakhmana had shown great interest in associating with Petrotech activities, who would also contribute to JoP.
