Highlights: Petrotech 2010
The 2nd Steering Committee Meeting for Petrotech 2010 was held on July 19th, 2010 at Hotel Shagri-La, New Delhi. Mr. R S Sharma, CMD-ONGC and Chairman, Steering Committee in his opening remarks lauded the efforts put in by the three tier - Core Committee, Steering Committee and Nodal Committee members in strategic planning and execution of the envisioned goals. He expressed his satisfaction that till date the preparations are on track. Mr. Sharma thanked Mr. Sunil Jain, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas for his support, coordination and interest in Petrotech-2010. Mr. Naresh Kumar, MD Jinal Drilling & Industries & President, Petrotech Society warmly welcomed everyone on board and expressed his faith that the joint endeavor and commitment of everyone will see Petrotech-2010 set new benchmarks for the oil and gas industry. The Progress Summary was presented by Mr. Sudhir Vasudeva, Director(Offshore), ONGC and Chairman, Organising & Programme Committee. He informed the members that PETROTECH 2010 Conference has several new partners like Deloitte, PFC Energy, Platts, Upstream, Oil & Gas year, AIMA, TERI, Mercury Travels, E&Y and others who are associated in organizing important events. Several interactive online events are also being organized for people having interest in Oil & Gas Indusry. A website dedicated to WPC-Youth Forum www.fueltheyouth.com has been launched dedicated to Future Young Leaders, this website hosts several prize winning competitions . With over 80 percent of the exhibition space already been booked, now a saleable exhibition space of only 1670 Sq. meter is available for booking on first come first serve basis to the interested exhibitors. In their concluding remarks Mr. Naresh Kumar and Mr. R S Sharma unanimously agreed that the crisp presentations and the meaningful discussions were a testimony of the growing interest garnered by Petrotech-2010. Events 3rd Veterans' Forum : The 3rd Meeting of Veterans' Forum was held on 15th July 2010 at Hotel The Claridges, New Delhi. The subject of discussion was "Global Overview of the LNG Business and Key Trends" as this meeting is a follow up of earlier meeting on the same subject when presentations were made by Mr. Sham Sunder, Former Director (Technical), Petronet LNG Ltd and Ms. Gauri Jauhar, Senior Consultant, PFC Energy. Mr Suresh Mathur, former CEO & MD Petronet LNG gave the feedback of the previous meeting and then the subject was discussed at length by the members. Next meeting is proposed to be on 'Shale Gas'. 3rd Industry Educational Tour to University of Alberta, Canada: After the success of previous two tours, Petrotech Society and University of Alberta has once again joined hands in organizing its 3rd Industry Educational Tour and conduct a certified programme on 'Technology Futures" from 25th July -3rd August 2010. University of Alberta will issue certificates for all participants. A group of 19 participants from major Oil Companies viz. ONGC, IOC, EIL, OIL, HPCL, GAIL have participated in the tour. Meetings
