Seminar on CDM Process and Opportunities "Carbon Credit"

Petrotech Society in collaboration with ONGC and IOCL had organized a seminar on “CDM Process & Opportunities Carbon Credit” on October 16 and 17, 2008, at IIPM, Gurgaon. Shri A B Chakraborty, GGM, Head- CMG, ONGC was course director and also chief moderator of the entire seminar.

The seminar was attended by 76 delegates from eleven oil sector PSUs. Secretary MoPNG, Shri R S Pandey inaugurated the seminar and set the tone of the seminar with his thought provoking address. He also released a booklet consisting of presentations of the speakers. There were two key note addresses, by Shri A K Hazarika, Director (Onshore), ONGC and Shri V C Agrawal, Director(HR), IOC. Both the addresses were very well received by the delegates.

The seminar had 10 sessions to cover the entire gamut of CDM process development and trading. The speakers were experts in their own fields and all the presentations were very well received. During the valedictory session, Shri M K Joshi, Director (Technical), EIL Chaired the session and gave an excellent impromptu speech on climate change and possible actions for low carbon technology from an engineer’s point of view. It is a tribute to the quality of the seminar that the entire seminar had recorded full attendance.
